To get to the summit, you would have to ride two cable cars, the first one stops at Morro da church from where the second one would get you to the summit. It takes 3-4 minutes to reach from the starting point. The ride itself would be an enchanting experience as bubble-shaped cable cars would offer you the 360 degrees view of the city.

Experience the Carnival:  Rio de Janeiro hosts the worlds’ largest and the most famous carnival and is held before the Lent every year. Streets are charmed with revellers, floats and adornments from different Samba schools.  Ensure to plan your trip in advance as to score a good deal with hotels.

Go Bar Hopping:  Rio has a vibrant vary of bars, and Lapa is the most desired area for bar hopping.  Once a twitchy neighborhood, it’s now the exuberant part of the city, post sun set. Every bar has its own unique charm, all offering a something little different from the other.

Get Out to Paraty:  Paraty or Parati is a Portugal historic town along the coastline of Rio De Janeiro. Paraty is known for its well preserved vintage buildings on its pedestrians-only old cobblestone streets.

Paraty is admired for its scenic beauty, it’s a perfect place to relax and indulge in a restful vacation. During the evening you may see a band performance, a capoeira demonstration or even a Carnival rehearsal near the main square – Paraty is full of delightful surprises!

  2. Brazil is a stunning place and I’d love to visit it, just that currently this zika virus epidemic has kicked in. I am very sorry for the people affected in this beautiful country! In the future I will explore Brazil too!

    Favela wanderings are very dangerous even if you have a guide to take you in. It is not recommended to get anywhere near a favela and even the organized tours are being arranged in less dangerous parts (some of those areas have changed in recent years, but used to be dangerous favelas).

    In fact, favela tour guides are frequently paid off, so that they “take care” and “ensure” the security of the travelers entering them…
